Okay so American Horror Story is the greatest show of all time… I have decided that I, not unlike the Pope, am infallible and therefore this statement is indisputable. BOOM. Roasted.
But anyways it truly is an amazing show. I, for some reason, didn’t get into it last year and so when my roommates and I randomly decided to start watching the second season I didn’t know what to expect. Boy was my mind blown. Like couldn’t believe how unbelievably good it was. Like finished the entire first season in two days… Wait what?
Basically everyone should start watching it immediately.
This new season takes place in a 1960s asylum, which got me thinking about how cool the sixties were. Like big hair, cigarettes everywhere, cocktails on cocktails on cocktails, and very, very short skirts. But lets get back to those cocktails…
My favorite drink is a gimlet, which is a very typical drink of the sixties. It’s delicious and limey and potent and wonderful. It can be made with vodka or gin, but gin is the preferable choice.
Here’s a recipe! So girl go get your drink on.
Classic Gimlet
What You’ll Need:
- 2 fluid ounces of gin
- 2 fluid ounces of sweetened lime juice
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- ½ cup of ice
What You Need to Do:
- Place sugar in a shallow dish; dip rim of chilled glass into sugar so rim is coated.
- Scoop ice into a shaker. Pour gin and lime juice over the ice, and shake well. Pour drink into prepared glass.
I share your enthusiasm for the series. I feel that forme season 2 is even better than season 1. I recently saw episode 5 of season 2, and in case you haven’t yet, get ready for a roller coaster ride. It was excellence!
